Pennsylvania Surpasses New Jersey as Top U.S. iGaming Market with Record $184.9M Revenue

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has announced a historic milestone for the Commonwealth’s digital gambling sector, reporting a record $184.9 million in monthly iGaming revenue, officially eclipsing neighboring New Jersey.

Data released this week by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) confirms that the state has reached a new peak in digital gaming performance. The $184.9 million total for the most recent reporting period represents a significant year-over-year increase, driven largely by a robust expansion in online slot offerings and strategic marketing by the state’s top operators.

Leading the charge were Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and Valley Forge Casino Resort, both of which saw double-digit growth in their interactive portfolios. Industry analysts point to Pennsylvania’s diverse operator landscape and aggressive player acquisition strategies as the primary drivers behind the state’s ability to overtake the long-standing leader, New Jersey. The Garden State, while still showing growth, reported $182.3 million for the same period.

“Pennsylvania has successfully optimized its tax structure and licensing framework to foster a highly competitive environment,” said industry consultant Sarah Miller. “What we are seeing is the result of a mature market hitting its stride, with a player base that is increasingly comfortable with mobile platforms.”

While online slots accounted for the lion’s share of the revenue—contributing approximately $135 million to the total—table games also saw a healthy uptick. As the PGCB looks toward the remainder of the fiscal year, projections suggest that Pennsylvania will maintain its top-tier status, especially as more operators integrate live dealer innovations to enhance user engagement.
